What This Is

Roll for Class is a free, 22-question quiz that matches Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition players to one of the game's 13 classes. Instead of asking you to memorize spell lists or compare hit dice, it asks about your instincts: how you like to solve problems, how much risk you enjoy, whether you'd rather talk your way out of a fight or start one. Your answers map to a class, and the quiz also gives you a complexity rating, so you know going in whether you're signing up for a class with three buttons or thirty. Who It's For

It's built mainly for new and newer players who are staring at the Player's Handbook trying to decide between a Fighter and a Warlock and don't yet have the table experience to know which one they'd actually enjoy. It's also useful for returning players rolling up a character for a new campaign and wanting a fresh gut check instead of defaulting to whatever they played last time. Who Runs This

Roll for Class is written and run by Your Helpful DM. It is an independent, one-person hobby project, not a commercial product. I got into D&D a few years ago and got hooked fast, then spent a good chunk of the time since talking friends into joining a table of their own. The one question that came up every single time was some version of "okay, but what should I play?" There is a vast magical world waiting on the other side of that question, and most people just need one honest nudge and a few real tools to walk into it. That is what this site tries to be: the nudge, plus the guides and tips to get you from a fresh character sheet to your first session feeling ready. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast.

How It Works

You answer 22 short questions about how you approach conflict, risk, planning, and downtime. There's no login, no email capture, and no account required. At the end, you get a recommended class along with a short explanation of why it fits and a complexity tier so you know what you're getting into.
